Verona Hills is a neighborhood of 750 homes in southern Kansas City, Missouri. Residents enjoy the benefits of a safe, comfortable neighborhood surrounded by many public and private schools, churches, nearby shopping, Avila University and St. Joseph Medical Center. The blend of quality housing with nearby institutions and commercial areas makes Verona Hills an attractive place to live.
Verona Hills was established in 1962 and developed in phases through the 1980’s. The neighborhood is characterized by single-family homes on large lots, with tree-lined streets and sidewalks throughout. The community surrounds Migliazzo Park, a City park with a small lake, playground, picnic areas and plenty of green space.
Part of Verona Hills was the site of the former town of New Santa Fe, Missouri, a popular stopping place for wagon trains traveling the Santa Fe Trail. Monuments, preserved dwellings and an historic cemetery commemorate the area's heritage. For more information about the heritage of our area, visit www.newsantafe.org.
